That’s most of what needs saying. The drive up the island is the reason this end gets neglected, and it’s the reason we route it deliberately rather than treating it as an afterthought. If you’re on the north end and you’ve been told you’re outside somebody’s area, you’re not outside ours.

We run standing weekly and bi-weekly service here, plus turnover work for rental owners.

Rentals and turnovers

A large share of the north end is rental property, and dog-friendly rentals mean yards that need attention between guests. Saturday changeovers are the norm and the window is tight.

Sand, wind and dune grass

The north end is the sandiest, windiest stretch of the island, and yards behave accordingly. Waste gets buried fast, dune grass hides plenty, and after a blow the yard is not where you left it. This is exactly the sort of yard where a quick loop finds a third of what’s actually there. We work it on a grid and we take the time it takes.

Storm season

The north end takes weather harder than the rest of the island, and access can change after a big storm. We’re straightforward about it: if the road is closed or the yard isn’t safe to work, we won’t pretend otherwise or bill you for a visit that didn’t happen. We’ll pick it back up as soon as we can get there.
