Topsail Beach is the south end of the island, in Pender County, and it’s the quietest of the three island towns by some margin. It’s also where a good number of our part-year customers are — people who keep a place here and want the yard right whether or not they’re in it.
Second homes and part-year service
If you’re only down for part of the year, you don’t need weekly service in February. But you also don’t want to arrive in May to a yard that needs a rescue operation before anyone can use it.
So tell us your pattern. We’ll run a reduced schedule while you’re away and step it back up before you arrive — and we’ll bill for what we actually did, not for a year-round plan you weren’t here for. If you rent the place out while you’re gone, we can work around the bookings too.
Sound side and ocean side
Topsail Beach is narrow, and which side of the island you’re on changes the yard more than you’d think. Sound-side lots tend to hold more grass and more shade, with the marsh edge close by. Ocean-side yards are sandier and windier, and things disappear under the surface faster.
Both take a proper sweep rather than a walk-through. We work them differently, and we’d rather spend the extra ten minutes than have you find something we missed.
The marsh is right there
This matters more on the south end than almost anywhere else we work. The sound and the marsh are close, the water table is high, and rain moves things quickly. Dog waste left in the yard doesn’t stay in the yard — it ends up in the ditches and then in the water everybody fishes, paddles, and swims in.

Sharing a ZIP with the mainland
Topsail Beach uses ZIP 28445, the same one as Surf City and Holly Ridge — which means the ZIP spans the island and the mainland across two counties. It causes the usual small headaches with deliveries and tax lines.
For us it changes nothing. We route by street.
