Frequently Asked Questions
The things people actually ask before they sign up.
Getting started
How much does dog poop removal cost?
It depends on how many dogs, how big the yard is, and how often you want us. Our rates are published on the pricing page rather than hidden behind a form — send us your details and we'll confirm your exact price the same day. See the pricing page →
Is the first cleanup really free?
Yes, on any weekly plan. However long it's been and however bad it is, that first catch-up visit costs you nothing. It's the visit that takes us the longest, which is rather the point.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Everything is month to month. Pause it, change the frequency, or stop altogether whenever you like.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a week, often sooner. One-time cleanups are frequently available next-day, which is useful if you've got people coming.
How the service works
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can get into the yard we'll take care of it and text you when we're done. Most of our customers are at work when we come.
What if my gate is locked?
Give us the code or leave it unlocked on your service day — whichever you'd rather. If we can't get in we'll text you rather than just leaving, and we won't charge for a visit we couldn't make.
What about my dog? Will they be okay with you?
Usually, yes — we do this all day. But if your dog would rather we didn't share the yard with them, just let us know and we'll work around them. Tell us up front if they're nervous or territorial and we'll plan accordingly.
Where does the waste actually go?
Off your property with us, and disposed of properly. It doesn't go into your bin and it doesn't get moved to the back corner of the yard. That matters more here than most places, with the waterway as close as it is.
What if you miss something?
Tell us and we'll come back out. If we can't put it right, you don't pay for that visit.
Scheduling & weather
What happens when it rains?
We work through normal rain. If it's genuinely unsafe or the yard is underwater, we'll push you to the next available day and let you know — you're never billed for a visit that didn't happen.
Do you work through the winter?
Yes, year-round. Plenty of people drop to every other week over the colder months, which is fine — just tell us. Winter is also when yards get away from people fastest, because nobody's out there looking.
We're only here part of the year. Can you work around that?
Absolutely, and it's common on the island. We'll run a lighter schedule while you're away and step it up before you arrive, billing only for what we actually do. More on part-year service →
What about after a storm?
If the road is closed or the yard isn't safe to work, we'll say so and pick it back up as soon as we can get there. We won't bill for visits we couldn't make.
Coverage
Which towns do you serve?
Hampstead, Holly Ridge, Surf City and Topsail Beach, North Carolina — the Topsail corridor across Pender and Onslow counties. See all service areas →
Do you go onto the island?
Yes — Surf City and Topsail Beach are both on our regular routes. If you're further up the island, send us a message and we'll tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
Do you serve Wilmington?
Not at the moment. We stay focused on the Topsail corridor so we can actually be nearby when you need us. If you're just outside our area, message us anyway and we'll tell you honestly.
Can you do my HOA or my rental properties?
Yes to both. We service common areas and waste stations for HOAs, and we work vacation-rental turnovers on standing schedules for owners and property managers. Commercial and rental turnover service →
